Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

But the bleachers are full, for a very good reason.
The big game is tonight! It's football season!

  1. Re: Book review request

    Hi,

I'm sure you’re pretty busy, so I’ll keep it short:

    - Orion Poe and the Lost Explorer is an adventure/fantasy story in the tradition of Jules Verne.

    - The central character is an eleven-year-old boy who is drawn into the mystery of a lost explorer.

    - The story is based on the real-life explorer John Franklin, who vanished in the Arctic in 1847.

    - It's set in present-day Maine, though much of the action takes place at the top of the world.

Here’s what kids are saying about Orion Poe and the Lost Explorer:

“Impossible to set down.” —Quintin, 9

“An absolutely fabulous adventure.” —Leda, 10

“The best book I’ve ever read!” —Bryce, 11

    “Awesome!” —Ella, 8

If you’d like a complimentary review copy in either paperback or PDF format, please let me know and I’d be happy to send one to you. The book is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2014.

    Thanks for your time.

    Will
